Wanted to try somewhere new for seafood and came across this place and was amazed where the main entrance was, almost missed it. Ordered a couple of oysters and they were fresh and delicious, even my wife who doesn’t like oysters said the Raspberry Point was amazing. We had mixed feelings about the shrimp taco. It was good.. the tortillas have lots of flavour but I felt the shrimp was lacking. The lobster roll was magnificent, but wasn’t a fan of the bun. The highlight of the night was the chowder, my god it was delicious. One of the best ones we had. Then finished off with a tuna tartar for dessert, that was alright.
Arrived here after dinner from just around the corner for some specialty oysters and catching FIFA wherever possible. Had the best kind of friendly service from both the man and woman which, I wish I had grabbed their names! Every time I inquired about something, she answered with such positivity and sweetness, so thank you for being so wonderful! Ps. If you love east coast oysters and catch chebooktook on the menu, order them! They have become a new favourite.
It’s a small place with a somewhat artificially (I hope) simple and old-fashioned interior, a kind of pseudo-maritime style. Tables are quite small, and the room feels crowded even when only about half of them are occupied. The noise level is far too high to consider the place romantic, and it’s not particularly easy to have a conversation. Tableware is fine, but nothing elegant. Service is friendly and reasonably quick, though it feels a bit disorganized at times. The menu focuses mostly on seafood, although there is a steak available as well. The oyster selection changes daily; on the day of our visit there were five varieties from both coasts. We ordered the “bread and butter.” The bread arrived barely warm, but it was still worth getting. Oysters I suspect the oysters were served too cold, which made their flavors harder to appreciate. Because of that, the oyster part of the experience was much less enjoyable than expected. Grilled Octopus The octopus itself was only barely warm and the portion was rather small. On the positive side, it was quite tender. The side dish, which contains smoked hummus, deep-fried chickpeas, red onions, capers, pickled celeriac, and fried chickpeas, was unfortunately dominated by salty capers, which didn’t really help the flavor of the octopus. Overall, I can’t really recommend this spot.
Terrific food with friendly staff in an unpretentious place. Good music. Not too loud. Love everything about it except maybe the high seats. No pictures of oysters... They look like Oysters.
A small and cozy little restaurant tucked away in downtown toronto. If you plan on eating oysters—I recommend sitting at the bar so it’s more efficient for service. We got a dozen oysters and the lobster poutine. Oysters were a little expensive at 4$ an oyster, but they were quite large and fresh. The poutine felt overly oily, but I knew it was because of the butter that was added ontop. Fries were a bit soggy. Would recommend this place for oysters if you’re in the area
