House Of Gourmet
Toronto
En un coup d'œil

I came here with my family with the toronto sightseeing Hop on Hop off. The food here is amazing and cheap. Upon getting seated, we got some tea which was a completely new experience for me. The service is very quick, with plenty of staff. The food arrived within a few minutes. It seems like the food is already finished and is heated until served. The portions are well sized and there are more than 400 options for food. The only negative part of the experience is that the bathroom seemed a bit outdated and uninviting. The lights were pretty dim and the paper towel dispenser had graffiti. Atleast, that is what it looked like in the mens bathroom. Other than that, it was a great experience. I can see why the tour guide said it was the most popular restaurant in Chinatown and why it was packed with people.
We went here for dinner, and it was yummy! They have a lot of options to choose from, and combos as well. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, sizzling beef plate, grouper and tofu, half a chicken, and honey chilli short ribs. Our meal also came with their soup of the day, which was delicious! There is a 5% discount if you pay with cash!
Love this place! The food is delicious. It’s literally packed in there so you know the food is good. I checked out the negative reviews, primarily uber orders or bad customer service. All probably valid. If you go here and accept that the staff are busy and English is not their first language.. you have a good visit. Easily some of the best Chinese in the city. Servers aren’t super welcoming but they are available and fast. Atmosphere is lively there’s usually a good cultural mix of people. Went years back and I’m so glad I stumbled back on this restaurant. Food is 10/10 in my opinion, I didn’t explore the menu I stuck to some fool proof options. There are I hundreds of menu options, can’t say it’s all good but the two I got were amazing.
Was craving Chinese food so we decided to try house of gourmet. The portions were large and the price was fairly reasonable. Would go back again. I really liked their Cantonese fried noodles and fried rice with sambal chili sauce. Our table was right beside the washroom, so it was kind of busy with people walking back and forth. Other than that, had a great time.
Great Chinese restaurant with a huge variety of dishes to choose from. The prices are very affordable and the portions are generous. The steamed chicken was absolutely delicious, tender and full of flavor. The lobster was surprisingly fresh, good quality, and very reasonably priced as well. The only downside was the beef flat noodles, which tasted a bit bland and lacked the smoky wok aroma. Overall, still a very satisfying experience with great value for money. I would definitely come back again. 4/5 stars.
