The Queens Seafood Dim Sum – Outstanding Post-Tennis Feast! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stopped by The Queens Seafood on Don Mills with a group of six after a solid session on the tennis courts, and it hit the absolute spot. The dim sum here is top-tier, fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and perfect for sharing around the table. Highlights from our meal: Deep-Fried Taro Balls & Draft Beer: Crispy, golden, lacy perfection on the outside with rich, savory taro inside. Pairing these with a cold Tsingtao beer right after playing was unbeatable. Classic Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) & Siu Mai: Excellent execution. The har gow had translucent, chewy wrappers packed with plump, sweet shrimp, while the siu mai was generous, savory, and topped with dried scallop shreds. Specialty Dumplings: The spinach-wrapper dumplings topped with fresh scallops and tobiko were as vibrant in flavor as they were in presentation. Crispy Red Rice Flour Rolls: A standout dish—silky red rice crepe wrapped around a delicate, crispy layer and savory seafood filling. Incredible texture combination. Baked BBQ Pork Buns: Pineapple-crusted tops that gave a slight sweet crunch, giving way to rich, savory barbecue pork inside. Pan-Fried Radish Cake & Steamed Specialties: Perfectly seared turnip cake with bits of cured meat, alongside delicious steamed tendon and stuffed bean curd wraps in rich savory sauces. The service was prompt and attentive, which is great when you've worked up a serious appetite. Sharing a table full of bamboo steamers and cold drinks with good friends made for a fantastic post-match outing. If you’re looking for high-quality Cantonese dim sum in the Don Mills area, this spot is a winner. Will definitely be adding this to our regular rotation!
I really enjoy this dim sum spot, and it's become one of my favourites for a reason. The menu features a range of interesting and creative items, including several unique dishes you won't easily find at other dim sum restaurants. It's refreshing to see a place that goes beyond the usual offerings while still maintaining classic flavours. The oriental-inspired décor adds to the experience, giving the restaurant a stylish and relaxing vibe that makes the meal even more enjoyable. One of the standout items for me is the BBQ pork bun pastry topped with a pineapple bun crust (BLB). Freshly baked, fragrant, and wonderfully flaky. The contrast of textures with the sweet, savoury filling makes it a must-try. Another memorable dish is the Papaya and Milk Puff. It comes filled with real diced papaya and smooth milk curd, creating a light, sweet bite that feels both refreshing and indulgent. Overall, this dim sum restaurant deserves the strong reputation it has in the area. With its creative menu, quality execution, and inviting atmosphere, it's a place I always look forward to returning to. Highly recommended.
Possibly the best dim sum restaurant I've been to in terms of food, service and decor. Large selection of dim sum, and it's not oily. Tastes really good. Servers are polite and helped pour first cup of tea. Decor is very upscale and modern, with a large glass dragon as a centerpiece. VIP members of Congee Queen get 10% off.
Great spot for dim sum! Given its related to congee queen, I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint. This place has made it into our regular dim sum rotation with its great selection and modern atmosphere. They even had cute tea pots and warmers so your tea doesn't steep too long. I brought friends who are visiting from out of town here too. Definitely recommend!
Went for dim sum. While I did enjoy the atmosphere and food, nothing I ate gave me a feeling of must come back. Since there are so many places for dim sum, the food really has to stand out. I recommend going at least once as maybe you'll like it more than me. If going on a weekend, go early as it gets very very busy. 10% off when paying cash. Total was $120 after discount, tax and tip. Also watch when they deliver a dish they don't accidentally stamp more than one dish as being served.
