Had an amazing Summerlicious dinner at Alobar Yorkville! Every course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The foie gras parfait was the highlight of the meal - rich, silky, and absolutely unforgettable. It was easily one of the best bites I’ve had in Toronto. Every dish was thoughtfully presented, and the quality really stood out. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt elevated yet welcoming. If you’re visiting during Summerlicious, Alobar is definitely worth adding to your list. Looking forward to coming back!
Celebrated a friend’s birthday with the Summerlicious lunch at Alobar Downtown, and it was one of the highlights of this year’s festival. The Heirloom Tomato Salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, letting Ontario’s seasonal tomatoes and creamy burrata shine. The Flat Iron Steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare - tender, flavorful, and paired with a rich au jus. For dessert, both the Basque Cheesecake and Banana Cream Pie were excellent, each offering its own unique balance of richness and sweetness. Alobar doesn’t rely on flashy presentation. Instead, it focuses on quality ingredients, precise execution, and balanced flavors. Combined with warm, professional service and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, this was a memorable meal and excellent value during Summerlicious. Highly recommended!
Celebrated a birthday here and the service was above and beyond. Our server Liana was patient and fun. She had the bar make me an off the menu speciality cocktail that was exactly what I wanted. The food was great, but I’d definitely return for the outstanding service.
If you ever want to eat the most incredible wedge salad on the planet, come to Alobar, here, downtown location at York street! Omigod! We were in the building to go to Medcan, and my mum had to eat, so we wandered into Alobar… Seriously the most outstanding wedge salad- big hunks of bacon, a whole thick piece of blue cheese- a bunch of other delicious things, omigosh dressing! Just wow! Wow! Yummy! Love the guys who served us too- so nice, nothing snobby! Update: so my mom ordered a Millefeuille for dessert- take a look at the photo- this is a work of art! lol! It is ridiculously good with fresh cherry compote inside! Freshly whipped cream! Good grief!
We had a great weekday lunch at Alobar. I was surprised by how busy the restaurant was. The food was amazing. Even a simple dish like fried calamari was done really well. The hamachi was also excellent, and the banana cream pie was absolutely delicious. The only downside was the service. It was not what I expected for a restaurant at this level. Everyone seemed rushed, and we sat at our table for quite a while. We had to get someone’s attention and ask our server to come over.
