Summerlicious or Sunday Special—it doesn't really matter. What matters most is sharing a wonderful meal with good friends. ❤️ Great food, a lovely atmosphere, and genuinely attentive service made for a fantastic evening. The bone marrow was an absolute standout, and enjoying two bottles of wine together made the night even more memorable. 🍷✨ We'll definitely be back!
We came to this restaurant for lunch before our theater time at Meridian Hall. Because we didn't have a reservation, we had to sit on the patio. The weather was nice, so it was a win-win situation for us. The staff were super friendly and attentive. We ordered from their brunch menu; we got a burger and a Benedict, and both came out amazing. On weekends, I would suggest making a reservation so you can enjoy the live piano music, which was something I think we missed out on. But it is definitely a place we will come back to as we really enjoyed our food!
The Piano Brunch was absolutely worth it. The front dining area is warm and inviting, although it can get quite lively depending on the crowd, and at times the noise may overpower the music. The service was excellent, and there are several good vegetarian options on the menu. We shared the Truffle Risotto and the Roasted Harissa Cauliflower, which together were more than enough for two people.
UPDATE: After our initial visit, the restaurant kindly reached out, sent us a gift card, and invited us to give them another try—which we really appreciated. We returned for brunch on a quiet Saturday morning and had a completely different experience. The service was excellent, and we even met the manager, Chrisy, who arranged the gift card. Everything felt much more polished and welcoming. We tried the Madame Croque, which was outstanding, possibly the best I’ve had in the city. The eggs Benedict were also very good, with a rich, well-made hollandaise sauce. The pancakes were a highlight too—light, fluffy, and full of flavor. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ve happily updated my rating. I’d definitely go back again, especially for brunch. First review: It was our first time here, and the presentation looked great, so we were really excited to try the food. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the first impression. The dishes came out cold, and the steak had very little flavor, it was so cold that the butter on top didn’t even melt. The rack of lamb was also cold, underseasoned, and pretty mediocre. The lamb croquettes were actually delicious, but felt overpriced for what they were. We were starving and didn’t feel like sending the food back, so we just ate it. When the server checked in, we mentioned it, and he said he’d let the kitchen know, but there was no apology and the response felt a bit dismissive. At the end, he didn’t even say thank you after we paid. Overall, it was an okay visit, but not the experience we were hoping for.
Had an excellent meal at Berczy yesterday. The food was very good, I was surprised with how well everything tasted. Not that I expected it to taste bad, but it exceeded my expectations. The Caesar salad was exceptional and so was the roasted bone marrow appetizer. The roasted bone marrow is something that isn't common and most people couldn't make this at home. The entrées were very good as well. Service was very quick and the desserts were delectable. The duck that I had was perfect and the serving was quite large.
