The dishes were well seasoned and all of the dishes tasted quite good. I am more familiar with Cantonese cuisine but I really enjoyed this restaurant. I would order the sweet and sour chicken, the cauliflower dish, and the salted egg yolk shrimp.

There is a casual, welcoming air found at Grandma Kitchen, where the wok breathes life into the dishes that spark familiarity in Chinese eats. The Cumin Lamb is thinly sliced and tossed in a searing wok, achieving a crispness that allows the aromatics to sing without being overcooked. It is a dish of harmony, combining the earthy perfume of cumin and a deep, savoriness that’s held in check by a hint of sugar to round things out. Thinly sliced red onions retain their crystalline snap and natural sweetness, while flash-fried dried chillies release a smoky heat that dances across the palate. Then you’re met with a golden-hued chicken broth, brightened by the sharp acidity of lemon and the numbing buzz of Sichuan peppercorn. Substantial chunks of basa fish, velveted in a delicate starch coating, remain tender and flaky, capturing the broth in every bite. Bouncy enoki mushrooms and pickled mustard greens add layers of complexity, while mung bean noodles offer a rustic, resilient chew. Then, of course, a bowl of rice is the quintessential companion.

What a delicious spot for chinese food! We walked in on a friday evening at 630pm and there were several tables available. What we ordered and our thoughts: - Yeung chow fried rice: can’t go wrong, delicious! - Stir fry bok choy: don’t know how they made this but the veggie was crunchy, fragrant and so tasty - Spicy tender beef: this was the star of my evening! It looks spicy with all that dried chilli but it wasn’t and it was very tender and flavourful. Absolute fav! - Crispy duck with taro mash: saw this on socials a lot and decided to try it, but it was meh. It’s sorta like fried mochi with duck, there wasn’t much taste of anything, just a chewy texture thing. I personally won’t waste my money on this and I’d rather order some bbq duck rice / peking duck to be honest. Still, 5/5 for this spot for all the other dishes i really enjoyed. I’ll definitely be back to try out their other cuisines!

Good place for group meals with a very extensive menu. The signature ribs and salted egg yolk crispy chicken cartilage were highlights, crispy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The soup was also light and balanced. Been here a few times and it’s been consistently reliable.

Absolutely a 5-star experience at Grandma Kitchen! We ordered the Flaming Mountain Pork Ribs, Stir-Fried Yellow Beef, and Taro Braised Chicken, and every single dish was outstanding. The Flaming Mountain Pork Ribs were bold, flavorful, and perfectly spicy — tender inside with that addictive chili aroma. The Stir-Fried Yellow Beef was incredibly tender, wok-hei packed, and beautifully balanced with fresh peppers. The Taro Braised Chicken was comforting and rich — the taro absorbed all the savory sauce and paired so well with the chicken. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and full of depth. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re craving real, home-style Chinese comfort food. Will definitely be back!
