Phenomenal dinning experience at NOTL! Our server, Giucomo provided outstanding service throughout our time there and made some great menu recommendations. Both food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was nice and calm.
We had the 4 course meal + a bottle of wine for $115. The lobster dip was our favourite. We also had the daily pasta which was a ricotta ravioli, and the chicken schnitzel which was too overdone. The carrot cake (forgot to take a picture) was good too. Overall good experience and our server was very nice.
The food was delicious. I arrived conveniently on their burger special night (get a burger and you end up with a free glass of house wine). Wasn't a fan of the house wine (white) but the Reisling was delicious (and local). I ordered the Tuna Tataki which was prepared marvelously. I have never had tuna prepared this way (or in general) and it blew me away. The burger was also fantastic and the truffle frites really topped off my potato craving for the day. I wasn't planning on dessert but I saw cherry cheesecake on the menu and had to indulge. It was a very large dessert and nothing I would've expected but it was SO good. The atmosphere was exceptional, definitely a beautiful place and the chairs were very comfortable. Extremely clean and well kept place I was very delighted with the aesthetic. They even had live music which was an awesome touch, Kyle was solo on the guitar and his setup was very nice and simple nothing too loud (and I was sitting right next to him). Beth the manager did an awesome job and Peter (my server) did a nice job as well. Will definitely have to come back soon!
Spent our anniversary weekend around the area and came across this outstanding place. Giocomo, our server, was specially amazing with us and we couldn't ask for a better time. Food was exceptional, to say the least. Restaurant was situated behind a lodging front so just read the signs to get to it. Atmosphere was pretty grand, too, when we went. Mainly street parking, but the meter is only 10am - 8pm I believe.
We decided to try NOTL because we were told it was a sister restaurant to Treadwell, one of our favourite spots in the area (we've been patrons ever since their original St. Catherine's location). The restaurants are pretty much next to each other. Food was good and service was friendly. We had the special seafood risotto, burger, chicken schnitzel, and fish, and all were well done. The portions were all substantial, but some dishes like the risotto were a tad too salty. It was Valentine's Day, so there was live music, which made for nice ambience. Some of the seating in the middle is cozy, but the huge lamps are a bit awkward because unless you're shorter, the lamp shade blocks the people who are sitting opposite you. Overall, we had a good time, and we'd go back, perhaps when the weather is warmer to enjoy the patio or to try the afternoon tea.
