I was a bit disappointed when eating the food at Taro's fish. I heard good things about the quality, but was underwhelmed by some of their items. The rice from the freshly made rolls were very overwatered to the point that it was sticky. We ordered the spicy salmon roll, spicy scallop roll, and chirashi bowl. The chirashi bowl was good and the fish tasted fresh. I thought both rolls were underwhelming as the rice was very sticky and the lettuce inside was overpowering the fish. I would consider coming back to just get the fish but I would not recommend their rolls.
Taro's Fish is my go-to spot whenever I'm looking for high-quality sashimi or planning a sushi night at home. If you're serious about fresh seafood, it's hard to find a better place in the city. The selection is incredible, with a wide variety of sashimi-grade fish and everything else you could need to make sushi at home. From fresh cuts of tuna and salmon to specialty ingredients, sauces, rice, seaweed, and Japanese pantry items, it's truly a one-stop shop for sushi enthusiasts. What I appreciate most is the consistency. Every visit, the quality and freshness of the fish have been excellent, which is why I keep coming back. Whether you're putting together a simple sushi dinner or a full spread for friends and family, you'll find plenty of options to choose from. Another hidden gem is their restaurant service and chef-prepared offerings. If you're not in the mood to make your own meal, they regularly offer prepared dishes and special dining experiences that showcase the quality of their seafood. These are absolutely worth checking out. Whether you're an experienced home sushi maker or just looking for some of the freshest seafood available, Taro's Fish is a place I'd highly recommend. It's become a staple whenever I want to bring a restaurant-quality sushi experience home.
This store has the freshest fish I've ever tasted. It's amazing. Even the simple rolls (e.g., basic salmon maki) taste wonderful. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is good. Taro's Fish is my favourite sushi place in the GTA. I highly recommend going here!
The freshness of this fish is outstanding quality. You are paying for the amazing fish without the theatrics of omakase. The service is fast, friendly, and helpful. I really enjoyed my experience and highly recommend to someone who appreciates fresh fish and not the cheap all you can eat quality. I ordered scallop, organic salmon, fatty tuna, medium tuna. I had half made into sushi and the rest sashimi. 140$ was steep but like I said it is comparable to the quality of the top omakase spots in the city. 17 Nigiri and 12 pieces of sashimi. Worth it! Will be coming back. They also have a section with prepared sashimi and sushi. That is worth the price yet again.
First time to try their sushi, quality was so much better than those from the grocery stores! I will definitely return to try other sushi. You can even buy fresh sashimi from their. They have a open kitchen, you can watch how the chefs making sushi! It's a takeaway store, no seating inside. Very close to ttc, some parking here too
