Stumbled upon this place while looking for parking in the area while going for an appointment that we had. When we got here the place was still not open but the vendors were all getting ready to open up shop for the day. The decor and the vibe of this place is really nice and cozy! There’s a very nice variety of cuisine to sample! You can easily spend a couple hours here and have lunch with the family and that’s what we did! I first had coffee and then when the places opened we ordered from three different places and that was lunch. It’s fun to try out different places here! The only thing is that the prices are a bit on the higher side for some of the food stalls but the food all tastes great!
The fascinating history of Waterworks Food Hall had intrigued me for quite some time, and I recently had the opportunity to visit this unique heritage building, conveniently located near Graffiti Alley. Housed within a beautifully restored 1932 Art Deco landmark, Waterworks Food Hall is a striking addition to the neighbourhood. The building features soaring 44-foot ceilings, exposed steel beams and columns, and impressive 20-foot south-facing windows overlooking St. Andrew’s Park, creating a space that is both historic and contemporary. After an extensive eight-year restoration and redevelopment project, Waterworks Food Hall has finally opened its doors, offering more than 15 culinary concepts, three bars, a bottle shop, two patios, over 12,000 square feet of event space, and underground parking. Wandering through the food hall felt like discovering a culinary treasure land. My eyes sparkled with delight as I took in the array of mouthwatering food displays. From local favourites to international flavours, every corner offered something tempting, making it difficult to decide where to begin. Its central location makes it an excellent destination for both locals and visitors. The hall is within walking distance of several attractions and offers convenient access to public transit, nearby parking, and St. Andrew’s Park, which features a playground and dog-friendly area. The modern interior blends industrial-chic design with the building’s historic character. The open-concept layout, soaring ceilings, and abundant natural light create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Sunlight streams through the expansive windows, allowing diners to enjoy views of the park while they eat. Thoughtful attention has also been given to accessibility, making the venue family-friendly and accommodating for visitors with disabilities or reduced mobility. Waterworks Food Hall is more than just a dining destination—it’s a remarkable example of how a historic building can be thoughtfully reimagined into a vibrant community gathering space.
Waterworks Food Hall is a really nice spot to visit if you want to try different food options in a lively and well-designed setting. The atmosphere inside the food hall is vibrant and enjoyable, making it a great place to stop for a casual meal while exploring the city. Among the various vendors, I tried Bello Pizza and had the Peppie pizza slice, which I really enjoyed. The crust was crispy, the pizza was flavorful, and it was generously topped with salami. At around 8 Canadian dollars, I also found it to be very reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. Overall, the whole food hall experience was very positive and definitely worth visiting.
Another great place I stumbled upon. Such a wonderful collection of cuisine inside this hall. Loved walking around taking it all in. The food quality and staff friendliness was a big plus. It was very clean too.
Looking for a place with a variety of culinary styles to choose from in one location? The Waterworks is a great choice, and another place full of history that you can add to your list of places to visit. The Hall is located in the city center, close to many attractions and with easy access to bus stops, parking lots, other shops, and next to a park with a playground and pet area. The place has a huge variety of restaurants, and especially a variety of prices. The decorations and comfort for visitors are excellent, especially considering accessibility for families with children and visitors with disabilities and/or reduced mobility. 🅿️Parking: the space has private parking, which provides direct access to the hall. ♿️Accessibility: the entrance to the hall has doors with automatic opening and closing, elevators for transition between floors, adapted restrooms with automatic doors, automatic faucets and grab bars, and crack-free floors. However, there are no menus in Braille, so it's important to ask the staff at each restaurant for assistance. Children: some restaurants have high chairs and changing tables in the restrooms. It's worth a visit, and you can enjoy the space more.
