We had such an amazing experience here! From the food to the service and hospitality, everything was absolutely perfect. The ambiance was beautiful and made for a wonderful anniversary dinner. Our server, Melissa, was incredibly attentive and gave us excellent recommendations. We loved every dish she suggested. The entire staff regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well, which made us feel genuinely cared for. Every single dish was delicious, and to top it all off, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and it tasted amazing too. This is definitely a must-visit restaurant, and we can't wait to come back!
Came here for our anniversary and had a really nice experience. The food was good and the service was great as well. The 24oz Porterhouse was definitely the highlight of the meal. We came on a Sunday night, so it was quiet and not crowded, which made the dinner feel more relaxed. The restaurant also has a nice atmosphere and is a great place to take some photos. Overall, a lovely spot for a special night out.
Our dining experience here was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail at Animl makes a huge difference, and this place definitely delivers on every level. We started the meal with the Caesar salad and the seafood tower, both of which were excellent. For the mains, the steaks were seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. To top it all off, the desserts were a fantastic finish to an incredible meal. Highly recommend!
We had such a great experience at Animl. Our server Melissa was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire night. We were seated quickly and felt welcomed right away. I had the chicken while my partner had the Animal Burger, and both were delicious. The fries were amazing, and we also loved the baby beans and carrots on the side. Of course we had to try the famous gold dessert everyone talks about, and it definitely lived up to the hype. It had a really refreshing lemon flavour that balanced the sweetness perfectly. The overall vibe of the restaurant was beautiful, warm, and welcoming. Even though it’s located on a very busy strip, parking was surprisingly easy to find which made the experience even smoother. We had a really good time and would definitely come back again.
Animl Steakhouse feels tailor-made for the social-media crowd. The space is undeniably beautiful, and judging by the number of phones in the air, that’s clearly part of the draw. If you’re looking for a stunning backdrop for photos, this place absolutely delivers. That said, while the food and service were good, they don’t quite rise to the level of Toronto’s more established, food-driven steakhouses. Compared to spots that prioritize refinement over spectacle, Animl falls just a touch short. One thing worth calling out: the Wagyu steak flight. The quality of the meat itself was good, but the presentation was surprisingly stark — almost oddly plain for a restaurant that puts so much effort into visual flair elsewhere. It didn’t feel as elevated or thoughtfully composed as you’d expect at this level. I should also mention that what they do with their caviar service is tragic: Served with greasy small potatoe rostis, the flavour and texture of the caviar is all but lost. Overall, Animl offers a perfectly pleasant night out, especially if atmosphere and aesthetics are high on your wish list. But when I think of the steakhouses in Toronto that truly pull me back with unforgettable dishes, this one doesn’t quite make that category. A fine visit — just not a “must return.”
