I visited this place as part of a culinary tour. The place is well maintained, clean, and decorated. The service was friendly, and very good. However, I didnt like the Margarita Pizza, and the pasta they served. Both seemed not properly cooked. I love Italian pizza and pasta, but this place didnt match the taste I had from previous experiences.
Authentic Italian pizza in Toronto. They have an outdoor patio dog friendly so it was great for the family! Best pizza I have had in the GTA.
This is by far the best pizza I had in years, not only in Canada but in Italy too (I am Italian). Perfectly shaped and cooked, tasty and authentic toppings. I would give more than 5 stars if that was an option. Great friendly staff too and awesome ambience! I will definitely come back when I am this side.
In terms of the actual restaurant setting it is alright, clean nice lighting, but nothing stands out as being Italian. And the service was quite average I would say, not many people since it was Thursday but still felt quite rushed. The pizza on the other hand was very good, and did some creative things that added a lot. I got the Bufalina, which was beautifully presented. Notably it came out very warm, and the fior Di latte partially melted in some parts which added a nice chewiness to the base. There was also solid spotting. The freshness of the buffalo blob and the saltiness of the prosciutto creates a nice balance. Didn’t get much of the aromatics of the basil however. Very notable was the sauce, which just like the cheese was plentiful, and the mix of cherry tomatoes with the warmth and San marzanoes creates a really nice acidity I have never tasted before. The dough however was quite firm for Neapolitan particularly at the edge, not very airy, centre was good and there was nice digestibility but I think it would benefit from higher hydration a bit. Still quite nice and filling though. And it of course had the overall uneven burns of a Neapolitan which is nice. Overall 9/10.
The pizzas here are incredible. The pasta, not so much. I had the spaghetti bolognese which ended up giving me an upset stomach almost immediately. Maybe they had that meat sauce for a few extra days as I've never gotten sick from this dish and that's all I ate. I probably won't come back here for a while, and when I do, I'll stick with a pizza.
