We actually had reservations at La Banane but somehow walked into their cocktail bar next door instead. 😂 We didn’t even realize until later but it ended up being a nice surprise! We ordered the oysters, scallops and 2 glasses of their Pinot Grigio. Everything was fresh and tasty and they also brought us some complimentary bread to start, which was a really nice touch! 🍞 The space itself is beautiful. I loved all the plants and the overall decor.. it feels cozy, modern and perfect for a night out! It was pretty quiet when we went though, around 7 pm on a Thursday, so the atmosphere felt a little flat. The lighting was also quite dim, which added to the intimate vibe but made the place feel even quieter. The best part of our visit was definitely the service. I didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was amazing. She was so friendly, attentive and made us feel really welcome the whole time😄 Even though we accidentally ended up at the cocktail bar instead of the restaurant, we had a great experience. I’d definitely come back for drinks and some small bites

Came here for a birthday dinner and left so satisfied with the service, food and atmosphere. The Mushroom dish was a standout surprise favourite. And the Eurobass was amazing. Thank you so much Alex for the best service we've had in a long while. We will be coming again!

La Banane is truly one of the most special restaurant experiences in Toronto. The menu is inspired by French cuisine, but it’s presented with modern and creative touches. You can feel a great deal of care in every dish. The seafood and meat dishes were especially cooked to perfection. Overall, the experience was very close to flawless.

I have NEVER been more positively surprised by a restaurant exceeding my expectations in my life. Every single dish had me physically saying wow after the first bite. Lamb, mushroom, mashed potatoes, steak tartare, bread service, and the banana cake are all easily among the best dishes in the entire city. And I genuinely mean that. We left a dinner at Linny's early to come get the banana cake dessert here on a separate occassion. It's literally that good and it tasted just as good the second time around. This is now the gold standard my gf and I will be comparing all future restaurants to. Obviously at a price tier that we can't be coming here to splurge on a weekly basis but it's basically penciled in for all future special occasions. Service, washroom, ambiance, decor, cutlery / plates, etc, all top tier. A++. Note: I would say the only reason you might not like this place is if you aren't a fan of extremely potent flavours.

We had a wonderful dinner at La Banane. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lamb neck was the standout dish of the evening. It was incredibly tender, rich in flavour, and beautifully prepared. We also really enjoyed the pasta, which was perfectly cooked and very satisfying. Dessert was excellent as well and was a great way to finish the meal. The steak was the only dish that didn’t quite reach the same level as the others. That said, La Banane doesn’t position itself as a steakhouse, so if steak is what you’re after, you might prefer a restaurant that specializes in it. Overall, the quality of the food, combined with the exceptional service and lively atmosphere, made for a great dining experience.
