We are in vacation in Toronto and were exploring Kensington Market area. Decided to google “best restaurant Kensington Market” and Rikki Tikki came up. The food was perfect. We got Gobi Manchurian and Butter Chicken Poutine. It wasn’t good it was perfect. Add to that a nice quiet dining room and a pleasant attentive staff. The Butter Chicken Poutine would be worth a trip in. Go now.
This place is in Kensington Market downtown Toronto, but it has a decent sized patio out front to enjoy the nice weather, and a deceivingly big inside as opposed to what you'd think walking in from the outside. Its described as modern Indian cuisine and I completely agree. The interior reminds me of a sort of chique classy cocktail lounge, but all the dishes and the plating are authentic indian. The naan bread was super fresh as were all the curries.
Recently tried this place with my friends for Sunday lunch. Sophisticated ambience with some really authentic Indian delicacies. We tried their Chicken Kebab (out of the menu recommended), Coconut Prawn Curry, Hyderabad Chicken Curry, and Chicken Biryani. We also added Tandoori Roti and Garlic Naan. All the dishes ordered were flavoursome, especially the Coconut Prawn Curry. The dishes were well presented with prompt service and quite friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend if you want to try some authentic Indian cuisine in downtown Toronto.
The food here was phenomenal. Our favorite was the Aloo Tikki Chaat- it was the best we’ve ever had. The garlic naan and shahi paneer was very tasty, as well. I would highly recommend this place!
The food was delicious! 10/10. The service was great— I loved the way our waiter helped us pick our orders based on what we liked. He was very helpful. The atmosphere was very cozy and clean. A place I’d definitely recommend— especially if you’re vegetarian!
