I recently had the chance to visit a popular Asian restaurant in Yorkville. I can confidently say that the food was excellent. I ordered beef carpaccio, wagyu gyoza, and grilled wagyu that was cooked at the table. Everything was delicious, but the carpaccio was especially impressive and easily my favorite dish of the evening. In total, I paid around $180. Personally, I found it a bit expensive. I understand that wagyu beef is a premium product, but paying over $20 for four meat dumplings felt a little excessive. Of course, pricing is part of the restaurant’s concept and positioning. When it comes to service, I was generally satisfied. That said, I expected a more refined and polished level of hospitality. The service felt friendly, but somewhat casual—more suitable for a bar than for an upscale restaurant. Would I return? Probably only for the carpaccio, which was outstanding. Otherwise, I believe there are better restaurants in the city offering a stronger overall experience. Pros: • Delicious food • Pleasant rooftop seating area • Outdoor heaters made the rooftop very comfortable, even in cooler weather Cons: • The restaurant doesn’t quite live up to the image and expectations it creates • Prices feel higher than the overall experience justifies
We visited Kasa Moto for Mother’s Day dinner. Upon arriving the hostess had a bit of an attitude and, though we had a reservation, waited for a few minutes before being shown to our table? Felt like they had to fit us somewhere, though we had a reservation. Anyway, from that point on, everything was top notch! We had friendly table staff and our waiter was awesome. The food was very good, chili chicken salad and brussel sprouts are must haves. The sea bass was not my favourite flavour, but that’s just me. The chicken was a bit tiny, but flavourful! I had a Sapporo and the rest of the table had wine and we split one cocktail just for fun. All in all I would recommend Kasa Moto for the beautiful interiors, neighbourhood and staff. The food is very good as well, though I would order differently if I could go again!
Went with friends for dinner. Staff were very helpful recommending items and explain how much to order. Mostly sharing items so was good to understand portion sizes. Inside vibe is good, sounds like the patio is the place to be in warmer weather. Food was amazing. Well prepared and very tasty. Just the right combination of flavours and textures. Will visit again for brunch on weekend.
first off, the food is delicious- the eggplant tempura, miso black cod, scallop sashimi were all standout favs/ plus i am now obsessed with the calamari here (wish i took a picture but iykyk!!!) the edamame portions are generous, perfectly steamed & salted. every dish and course was timed thoughtfully and presented beautifully. i am soo glad we saved room for dessert, it was the perfect way to end the night. a warm thank you to aubrey, the bartender who made us gorgeous special drinks - a recipe from his old bar in belgium, tailored to our preferences 🫶 & a big thank you as well to isaac, who greeted each of us personally, for his recommendations & checking in throughout the night to make sure we were well taken care of- which we absolutely were! 💜 honestly, a truly singular experience in toronto. the space is intimate & the service immaculate. merci encore!
Kasa Moto was a pleasantly surprising experience. Their food was really good. I especially remember the saiko maki, as I ate it, different flavors kept developing and I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved their black miso cod and thought that it was very creative especially with the wakami and ikura. Their desserts, especially the matcha yuzu cake, were presented beautifully and tasted exceptional. One thing I didn’t enjoy much was the crispy tuna rice. Our server was so friendly and attentive, he made our experience at the restaurant very memorable. Lastly, the artwork was something I couldn’t take my eyes off.
