Pizza Restaurants in Toronto

If you’re heading to Toronto and craving pizza, you’re in for a treat. The city’s pizza scene is surprisingly diverse and a little competitive, with each neighborhood bringing something a bit different to the table.

Try a slice at Pizzeria Libretto for some classic Neapolitan style with a chewy, blistered crust that reminds me of my trip to Naples. If you’re around Ossington, check out Maker Pizza, their creative combos and killer crust are worth the wait. Don’t overlook the east end either; places like North of Brooklyn offer a take on New York-style slices but with inventive toppings you won’t find anywhere else.

A quick heads-up: many places get busy during weekends, especially after hockey games downtown. Call ahead or be ready to grab pizza to go. And if you’re visiting in the colder months, nothing beats a hot, cheesy slice after a stroll through Kensington Market or Queen West. Toronto’s pizza isn’t just food, it’s a little slice of the city’s character.

Local pizza scoop

If you’re after a quick pro tip, skip the obvious downtown choices during the weekend unless you enjoy lines. In less hyped neighborhoods like The Beaches or Leslieville, you’ll find hidden pizzerias with seriously good crusts and less wait time. Also, try to catch the seasonal specials. For example, some places rotate toppings based on local farmers market finds, especially in late summer. It’s one of the ways Toronto pizza shops keep things fresh and surprising. Oh, and if you like a thin crust with a bit of snap, check out North of Brooklyn in the east end. It’s not just a pizza slice, it’s a bit of fun food culture.
