We rarely go out to eat fancy, but we decided to try Opus as it was my partner’s birthday. My honest opinion about this place is that it’s okay. The appetizers: fois gras, and the stracciatella were amazing. The maple flavour and the apple slices in the fois gras just made the whole dish better. However, we had run into issues with the mains. We waited almost an hour-and-a-half for the mains. I had ordered the Iberico pork, but it tasted bland and two cuts were provided; one was cooked “perfectly” (looked raw) and the other one was completely overcooked. The tuna that they substituted for the pork was alright, just very peppery, and the mushrooms were bitter. My partner ordered the sea-bass, and it was good. I do understand that the restaurant was busy that night, and can chock it down to their system falling under pressure. Our server (didn’t catch his name) was understanding and was very polite with us, so I’ll give them props for the customer service during the whole ordeal. The crème brûle however was fantastic, and had a super rich and creamy texture with an amazing salted caramel taste. The peaches for us weren’t necessary for the dessert, in our opinion. Overall, I am giving Opus a 3 star rating, as the appetizers and desserts were amazing, but the long wait time and subpar main dish were not really acceptable for a restaurant of its class. I do not think we will return, but we thank the staff for being understanding and communicating as best as they could.

The tuna taste very bad and it is a huge chunk, chunk of grounded pepper on the foie gras, and we asked for the drink menu which means for the wine and staff, the servant kept saying that they don’t make cocktail or mocktail here but they can do it for me, I appreciate that but I wanna get wine instead, servant clearly misunderstood me, the service attitude makes me uncomfortable with arrogant tone in the following times. Good atmosphere here, but might not be a place for me.
