Love this place! We come here all the time, and the food is always amazing. Definitely the best Georgian food around. The khinkali are so good, the dough is super thin, and the filling is always juicy and flavorful. The service is great every time too. Diana was our server today, and she was so friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome.
I wouldn't be surprised if their food was teleported straight from Georgia. Start with a vibrant assortment of minced vegetables - spinach, carrot, beet and beans - blended with oil to accentuate both flavour and aroma, layered with subtle acidity, sweet and mellow garlic fragrance, and punctuated by traditional Georgian spices. The trio of Georgian dumplings arrives with a thin, supple wrapper that holds the savory lamb filling and soup - juicy, flavourful, rich and infused with onions - that spills all over your plate as you tear through the slightly chewy dough. Cheesy, cozy and full of character, Georgian Khachapuri is simply the most decadent version of pizza. The base is airy yet chewy, with a lightly browned crust that imparts a toasty, nutty aroma. A layered cheese filling blends stretchy mozzarella-equivalent and a crumbly, deeply savory salty cheese beneath, balanced perfectly by the bread. Topped with extra butter and an egg yolk, each bite is rich, indulgent, and utterly satisfying. The pork and lamb kebabs are grilled to a golden-brown beauty, retaining a moist and tender texture while accentuating their savory aromas. The layer of saj bread underneath ensures nothing goes to waste, complemented by an appetizing plum sauce and pomegranate molasses sauce, respectively.
I want to share my impressions of this establishment. The interior is very nice, but lacks Georgian flavor. The food is quite tasty and there is a large selection. We had to wait a long time for our order, although we were not warned about the waiting time, and this is a mistake. There are no language problems, you can be served in different languages. Having visited various establishments of Georgian cuisine, this restaurant did not surprise me. The waiters are polite, but slow, when we asked for the bill, we had to wait up to 10 minutes, and then go up and pay ourselves, because we were late for a taxi (I rated it too high, but the location and interior bribed me).
My sister and I went here twice, on my stay to Toronto. We stumbled upon this phenomenal restaurant by accident and came back a second time because it was just that good. The staff, are incredibly nice, they answered our every question. Diana, Dachi and Ana made us feel at home. I had their house sodas, native to Georgia. Both were incredible, recommend if you have a sweet tooth. When it comes to food, you cannot go wrong, every dish is gorgeously prepared and is just as delicious as it is visually appealing (lamb meat was my personal favourite, worth the extra cost). Khachipuri (the cheese pie with the eggs you can see on the image) was out of this world. Juicy, full of flavour and is authentic. Why are you still reading this review? Go there. Now.
