The Cannery at Pillar and Post delivered exactly the kind of dining experience we were hoping for. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with warm wood finishes, exposed brick, historic touches, and a cozy atmosphere that feels elegant without being pretentious. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the evening. The food was excellent. The steaks were cooked perfectly, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Every element on the plate was well executed, from the sides to the sauces. It felt like a meal where real care had gone into every detail. What truly made the night exceptional, though, was our server, David. He struck the perfect balance of being attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling intrusive. His recommendations were great, service was perfectly timed, and he made us feel looked after from start to finish. David is exactly the kind of server who elevates a great meal into a memorable dining experience. After a disappointing experience elsewhere earlier in the day, The Cannery completely restored our faith in Niagara-on-the-Lake dining. We would happily return and highly recommend requesting David if you’re lucky enough to have him. Five stars all around.
We had an exceptional dinner at The Cannery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, making it ideal for a night out with friends. The bone marrow is our must starter - rich, buttery, and expertly seasoned. We had to repeat the order it was so good. Both the rib eye steak and prime rib were cooked/served medium rare as requested. Every bite was delicious, juicy and full of flavor. Most importantly, the service was excellent: professional, attentive, and genuinely warm, never rushed. A truly memorable dining experience. We'll definitely repeat. Thank you
My fiancé and I came to Cannery restaurant to celebrate her birthday, and we had an absolutely lovely experience! The staff were extremely friendly and professional, providing us with tons of good recommendations for food and drink options. The food was TO DIE FOR - was definitely one of the best meals I have had in my life. One of the staff members was kind enough to even bring my fiancé a baked potato on the house without asking after seeing the way she was eyeing the one on my plate! Outstanding service! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting NOTL and wanting an elegant, quiet, and delicious 5-star meal!
Truly excellent dining experience. The staff was happy to book a party of 10, and to make small accommodations when requested. The staff went above and beyond with service; the hostess was friendly and efficient, Sharon our server was the absolute best - friendly, attentive, professional and offered great pairing selections, and the back of house timed the meals perfectly. All of our food was cooked to perfection- no small feat with a party of 10 on a Saturday night. The ambiance was excellent with pleasant lighting and music at just the right volume. I really can't say enough. Thank you so much for the staff for making an 80th birthday so special!
