Lovely spot during the winter season! Their special drinks are always great, with the apple cider being a personal favourite. It’s quite loud due to their popularity during the holidays, but it’s not a huge problem. They’ve got upstairs seating and a lovely set-up. The service is fast and friendly. Overall, not bad!
Just grabbed a drink from their outdoor stand and it was perfect for a hot summer day. They had a nice selection of fruit-flavoured sparkling drinks to choose from. The woman serving us was friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend!
We visited Balzacs on our last day in Toronto. It was absolutely pouring it down outside and we wanted to get inside somewhere. Lovely place, high ceilings, two floors and even a balcony overlooking the main area. Looked like a good place for "work at homers" as there was plenty of laptop users in here. Good selection of coffee, I had an iced caramel latte, was quite weak in terms of the Caramel syrup. Loads of staff in there, almost too many as they were all stood around, and the only downside was that there was a small bird flying around, which put me off completely.
decided to come visit this location after seeing that it’s justin bieber’s fav cafe in toronto and it didn’t disappoint! the prettiest cafe in toronto imo and i absolutely love the aesthetic of this place. i ordered iced americano and my friend ordered iced latte. would def comeback to try their matcha latte🍵
Stopped by Balzac's in the Distillery District during a snowstorm when a lot of the other shops were closed. Glad they were open! The space is beautiful—historic brick, high ceilings, and cozy vibes. We got the S’mores Hot Chocolate ($10), topped with whipped cream, toasted marshmallow, graham cracker, and chocolate drizzle. It’s was very sweet, and the sugary flavour overpowered the chocolate itself. Upstairs seating was a bit distracting with someone on speakerphone FaceTiming. It’s a shame because the café itself is gorgeous, but the experience depends a lot on other customers being considerate. Overall, nice to have a spot open during the storm, but the drink and noisy environment made it less enjoyable than it could’ve been.
