I don’t normally write long form reviews, because I believe a true good experience is dependent on so many factors that can inflate or change ones opinion. I’d like to share what made my meal at KL Kitchen so special First of all, the food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I over-ordered, to our waiters surprise. Emphasizing playfully, “you’re crazy!” As he walked away to punch in our 6 dish meal between the two of us. A late, late night supper with a long time friend added to the meal, naturally, but the food was what stood out. Simple, fairly “classic” Chinese dishes, all served fast, piping hot, and in quantities you can’t find in a lot of places anymore. Everything was delicious, of all 6 dishes. The Wok Special, a delicious mix of textures and flavours. The Stir Fried Romain, an absolute hit. As well as the other dishes. All incredibly tasty. Secondly what made our experience was how Patrick, I presume the owner, handled a particularly difficult guest during our late night meal. Clearly a gentleman looking for a free meal, or perhaps a fight. Maybe someone who had a bad day just in general. But Patrick handled the situation perfectly, de escalating the aggressive guest and managing to escort him out, with no need for physical contact or verbal abuse. Came over afterwards and apologized on his behalf, of which we both understood and said there was no need for an apology. He then, as we sat and finished our meal, took care of us attentively and even said hes “staying open until 4:15am so we can chat.” He then thanked us and we got to show how we appreciated his care. Thirdly, and this is what may count as my review being skewed, is Patrick’s care went beyond our dinner. As I stood outside with my friend, waiting for our separate rides, the restaurant dimmed behind me as Patrick left for the evening. He asked how far I was going, and if my ride was close. I replied that it was and thanked him again. He had then gone and gotten his car, pulled in front of the restaurant where I was standing, and asked if my ride was close, offering a lift himself. The gesture alone goes beyond anything one can expect for a late night dinner out. For these reasons, the food being incredibly delicious, but the care and the service Patrick gave, true hospitality, is why I will be back. And which is I can’t help but give a perfect review of my first experience at KL Seafood Restaurant. I will be back, and I look forward to seeing Patrick again.

Came for Malaysian food, but they stopped serving Malaysian dishes. It’s all Cantonese food. But glad we stayed. Food is decent, and service was great! They gave us complimentary soup, dessert and plate of salt and pepper shrimp at the end. The boss was really hands on and served us. Will come back.

I recently visited KL Kitchen Chinese Food in Chinatown, Toronto, and overall it was a warm and satisfying experience—perfect for the winter weather. I especially enjoyed their chicken and herbal hot pot, which was flavourful, comforting, and great for sharing on a cold day. That said, I did find the chicken a bit on the older side in texture, even though it hadn’t been cooked for long. It didn’t ruin the meal, but it’s something worth noting for those who are particular about tenderness. Service-wise, everything was generally smooth, but I’d recommend double-checking the bill at the end. Payments are calculated manually, and I experienced a small error: the 5% cash discount wasn’t applied. It was an easy fix, but good to keep an eye on. Overall, KL Kitchen offers tasty food and a cozy atmosphere. With just a bit more attention to the details, it could be an even better dining spot. I’d still recommend giving it a try—especially for the herbal hot pot!
