I can say "Simple is best" for this steak. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium-rare. Since the seasoning wasn't too strong, I could really enjoy the rich beef flavor from a great Maillard reaction. I can definitely say they know how to cook a steak. The Caesar salad was also great. In addition, the Vichyssoise was my first time trying a French-style appetizer. It not only had a smooth texture, but it was also nice and creamy, with a subtle sweetness from the corn. Since it's vegetarian-friendly, it would be a great option for vegetarians. Overall, it was a truly worthwhile and impressive dinner.
In December 2025, we had such a great NYE dinner at Luma. We did the 3-course menu and honestly every course was solid! Good food, good drinks, great service, and really nice vibes for ringing in the new year. The standout dishes for us were the seafood soup, the steak, the whipped feta starter, and the banana split dessert. Everything felt really well done without being overly fancy or pretentious. Definitely a spot we’d come back to for a special occasion or just because 💁♀️
The decor and ambiance is inviting. Service is friendly and attentive. The food was good. The curry carrot soup was a lovely start and the crispy duck was a good entree. The strip loin unfortunately came out well done vs medium rare and they were happy to refire it to make us happy. It came with crispy fries and green beans and the bernaise and dip were great for it. They actually took the steak off our bill which was an unexpected pleasant surprise.
I made a reservation before coming in here. I wanted to have a table by the window but there was nothing available. Server was attentive to orders. The ambiance was cozy, quiet, and the lighting in the restaurant was perfect. Though the meal didn’t quite live up to my expectations; it was acceptable, but not something I would go out of my way to order again.
Nice deco and lighting, the experienced server is very attentive and caring but the junior servers need to get familiar on workflows and practice on best timing. Beef carpaccio and oysters are good, salmon is best, steak with fries quite good, the crispy duck was over-deep fried in my opinion. Overall a good experience and able to finish in time to enjoy the Sounds of the Music show.
