Café Landwer in North York is one of the better locations I have visited. The space is bright and inviting, the menu has a great variety of options, and the portions are surprisingly generous. The food has always been consistently good, and there is usually something on the menu for everyone. My only criticism is the service. Even when the restaurant is not particularly busy, it can take quite a while to get a server’s attention, and the overall pace feels very slow. Aside from the service, it is a really nice spot with good food, generous portions, and a pleasant atmosphere.
Perfect location to have dinner pre-Luminato show at Meridian Arts Centre. Sat on patio to people watch as surprising number of people on Yonge St. Wide sidewalks albeit watch your step with uneven concrete (little girl fell & sawmkthers trip!). Additionally e-bike food couriers use the sidewalk! Plus vanity cars & motorcycles are loud! Yonge is a 6 lane highway here. But back to cafe!! Nice staff. Ordered Chixken Fatush Salad. Did not see nor taste mint, croutons were chewy, & chicken breast very small. Staff did not check in to see if “everything was okay”. A Glass of Prosecco (sweeter than I like but $7 for 6oz good deal!) and bubbles are happy. Had an excellent affogato ☕️ 🍨 for dessert. Total bill (with tip) $48. And ‘music’ was that tech beat but given the traffic it didn’t matter.
This café has been one of our favorite choices for a long time, and we always enjoy our visits. Today, our server Hasti made the experience even better. She was very patient, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. Her warm attitude made our time there even more enjoyable. Thank you, Hasti, for your excellent service. We look forward to coming back again!
Went for brunch, we ordered the Croissant Benedict which was sooo delicious and the Protein packed omelette with the challah bun which my bf loved as well! The Halva iced latte was also unique and pretty good, but couldn’t really taste the coffee that much. We sat outside because inside was all reserved, so next time will try to sit in
Tried their brunch recently and it honestly hit the sweet spot. The food was genuinely good, with solid quality you can taste in every bite. Prices felt fair—not a steal, not overpriced—just right for what you get. The café itself has a simple, no-frills vibe, nothing fancy but comfortable enough to sit back and enjoy your meal. Overall, a well-balanced experience that delivers where it matters. Definitely worth checking out.
