A friend of mine kept recommending this restaurant to me, but I'm not a huge fan of Northern Chinese Sichuan flavours. Fortunately the lunch special has a very basic tomato soup with rice noodles, which I enjoy very much. We ordered the golden pumpkin soup, the tomato soup, and the shredded chicken. The soups were delicious and the portion size was huge considering it's a lunch special. The shredded chicken wasnt really what we expected (a bit more chili oil based) and didn't match the picture on the order form, but the flavours were delicious. Cash discount of 5% (does not apply to lunch special), you also must dine in for the lunch special. Fantastic value for lunch.
One bite and you are hooked. I ordered the house sauerkraut soup with basa fish and the Szechuan peppercorn grilled basa fish. both were incredibly flavorful. Every bite was amazing, and the portions were generous. The staff were also warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Mr. Fish Chinese Restaurant and I truly felt it deserves a great review. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and very comfortable. The restaurant is very clean, well organized, and you can clearly see that they care about giving their customers a pleasant experience. I especially want to give a big compliment to Zack, who served our table. Zack did an outstanding job and made our visit even more enjoyable. He was extremely polite, attentive, and professional throughout the entire meal. He checked on us regularly, made great suggestions, and made sure everything was perfect. It is rare to see service with such genuine care and kindness, and Zack truly represents the restaurant in the best way. The food was also absolutely amazing. Two dishes really stood out for us. The pumpkin soup was exceptional—rich, smooth, and full of flavor. It had a comforting taste and was perfectly balanced, making it one of the best soups I have tried in a long time. Another highlight was the sauerkraut dish. It had a unique, fresh, and slightly tangy flavor that was incredibly delicious and prepared beautifully. Both dishes were memorable and showed the quality and authenticity of the kitchen. Overall, the combination of delicious food, a welcoming environment, and excellent service made this visit truly special. I highly recommend Mr. Fish Chinese Restaurant to anyone looking for high-quality Chinese cuisine and a great dining experience. A special thank you again to Zack for his fantastic service. I will definitely be coming back again!
Food: surprisingly good, only surprising because i’m not the biggest fan of this specific cuisine. My mom loves spicy fish soup so i’ve book marked this place for a while now in hopes of taking her. The snakehead fish in sauerkraut soup was delicious 5/5, the popcorn chicken was THE BEST 5/5, the marinated cucumbers was good but a tad bit salty and it came first so we didnt really have anything to cushion the saltiness with 3.5/5, chicken cartilage 4/5 mainly because of price for what you get, egg rice 4/5 perfectly cooked but not enough egg flavour imo. Space: Very small. We came in as a party of 3, there was 1 table left in the corner that can only fit 2. I looked around and noticed 2-3 tables that can fit 4 filled by parties of 2, quite unfortunate so yes, we did have to wait. 3/5 for seating arrangement.
