I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chiado during their Summerlicious menu offering, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm in their approach. It felt like they took pride not just in the food, but in creating a memorable dining experience. The Summerlicious menu itself was thoughtfully curated, showcasing a great balance of flavours and fresh ingredients. As expected from Chiado, the seafood was the highlight. The fish was perfectly prepared. Fresh, delicate, and cooked with precision. Each dish allowed the natural flavours to shine while still incorporating subtle, elegant seasoning that elevated the overall experience. What I appreciated most was the consistency across courses. From appetizers through to dessert, everything felt cohesive and well-executed. Portions were satisfying without being overwhelming, making it easy to enjoy each course without feeling rushed or overly full. The atmosphere also deserves mention. Refined yet comfortable, making it suitable for both special occasions and a relaxed evening out. Overall, Chiado delivered an outstanding Summerlicious experience. Between the impeccable service and the expertly prepared seafood, it’s clear why this restaurant continues to have such a strong reputation. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality fish dishes and a polished dining experience.
Visited Chiado for their Summerlicious dinner menu and had a decent experience. Their dining room felt well kept, clean, and was air-conditioned (which was great to come into from the summer heat outside). Their staff are pretty attentive and professional. The food was okay. I’d say their strong suit was with the seafood like a lot of other reviews have mentioned. I got the roasted quail for my appetizer and the dish had good flavour, but the quail was dry. I had the skate wing for my entree. The skate was itself cooked very well - crispy, flavourful, and not overcooked. The “risotto” was I think overdone and dry. I’m used to the rice being more al dente and more of a flowing and saucy creaminess to go with it. This was more like a lump of porridge under the skate. The crème caramel was decent. Overall, I appreciate their service and the experience that brought to our visit. Food-wise, I think there are better choices in the city.
How can a place make such exquisite tasting food and yet so sophisticated. Absolutely incredible Portuguese food, and I am Portuguese and blown away. The service is fantastic with very very considerate staff. Definitely definitely coming here again!
I was recommended to come here with my 'friend', and we had an amazing experience with the waiter up until the end of dining. Everything was superb. I would love to come back again to try their dessert, because the waiter wanted us to try it.
A nice experience and amazing cost to value ratio with their Winterlicious offerings. We had salmon tartare, shrimp and lobster bisque, skate fish with risotto, and stake tuna. They all have balanced taste and are cooked beautifully. My favourite would be pan seared skate fish for its perfectly crispy skin and tender texture, which pairs well with their creamy yet delightful risotto and refreshing vegetable. Our desserts are poached pear and molotof; very interesting texture again but might be a little bit sweet. The restaurant is big with a few different dining rooms. Overall, i find the meal delightful and am impressed with their cooking technique.
