This has shockingly become one of my fiancé and I’s FAVOURITE restaurants, and we’re pretty particular! Truly a hidden gem! The food here is shockingly INCREDIBLE, and the service is some of the best we’ve ever experienced! Our server was named Jaleenah/Jahleena, if you can I highly suggest getting her—she can tell you anything at all about the menu, as if she’s tried every item personally, was super nice and fun, knew intuitively when to approach us and when to leave us be, and added to the great vibe of the restaurant in general. We will 100% be back regularly!!! Thank you SJT and to our server!!!
Yum! I liked the fish and chips. The high-top table we were sat at was pretty small for three though. More than enough seat space, but table could barely fit all our food.
Great little pub, especially if you’re an Arsenal fan — they show Arsenal matches and even reduce a few prices during the games, which is a nice bonus. The place was pretty quiet when I visited and the server was working alone, but he was incredibly attentive and friendly throughout. As I was wearing my Arsenal jersey, he even offered me my first beer on the house, which was a really nice touch. The food menu looked appealing, and we ordered fries and wings. The wings weren’t the best, but the fries were excellent, especially with the curry mayonnaise sauce — absolutely delicious. Overall, the vibe of the pub is very cosy and welcoming, and it was the perfect spot to warm up on a cold, snowy day. I’d definitely come back, especially for a match.
it is overwhelmingly loud and lively in there BUT OH MY GOODNESS I DID NOT EXPECT ALL THE FOOD TO BE SO DELICIOUS AND PERFECTLY MADE. the cheddar biscuits were absolute perfectionNNNNN. they were hot and fresh, with a super fluffy, soft, and moist interior and a perfectly golden crusted crunchy exterior. the garlic butter was creamy and whipped, and it was slightly salty, with the garlic flavour being light, subtle, and not too overpowering at all. i also loved how the biscuits had that slight baked dough aroma — absolutely ADDICTING. the fish and chips were also INCREDIBLE, it is exactly how fish and chips should always taste like. i actually can’t get over how perfectly and freshly the fish was fried, with the outside SO crispy and the inside just STEAMING and JUICY and HOT and immaculate. the fish itself also just tasted so good and wasn’t overly “fishy” tasting, BUT DIPPING IT AND THAT GOLDEN FRY INSIDE OF THE SUPER TANGY TARTAR SAUCE was just divine !!! the fries, thick and potato-y and some with a nice crisp, and the mushy peas (healthy tasting!) were also great accompaniments.
