2026 June 4★ Venue: two floors filled with music. Downstairs primarily washroom, smaller bar and dance area where seperate DJ or entertainer could be. Open seating. Upstairs, fairly deep dance floor with a long wall bar as well. Private seating areas for VIP. Pretty nice. Security guards available everywhere and despite some negative comments by others, they are doing their job. No issues. Drinks: primarily rail bar drinks and simple shots. No cocktails at the time. Event: DJ soda. Opener started at 1am. $45 Overall. Fun.
DPRTMNT has to be one of the best clubs in Toronto. From staff, to music, to environment, they have got it down pat. I have seen previous reviews about the people that go to DPRTMNT and how it can be inappropriate and rowdy. That is no reflection of the space, the employees, or the music. I have had a few sticky experiences with people who go here but it comes with almost every bar/club you go to in any city. A few employees that stood out to me are Jasper and Irene. Jasper works as security and consistently goes above and beyond what is required of him to make our experience better. With any issue I have brought up that requires security assistance, there was no hesitation, only immediate action. Of all the clubs and bars I have tried in Toronto, I have faced so many issues with security not doing anything or not doing enough to make my group feel safe around creepy people. DPRTMNT is the opposite. Irene embodies such a warm, comforting feeling. Whenever I go to DPRTMNT, my friends and I carry such a big smile on our face because Irene is the first person we interact with. She is extremely hard working, benevolent, and kind. You can tell the staff strives to make visitors feel welcome and ensure a beautifully vibrant night out. I highly recommend DPRTMNT to people who want an exciting crowd, a large space, techno music that actually makes you want to dance, staff you can have a laugh with, and an atmosphere that you won't forget!
Coming from a small town, my first night at DPRTMNT was unforgettable. The energy hits you the moment you walk in — incredible music, packed dance floor, and a crowd that just wants to have a good time. It felt big-city in the best possible way. The lighting, sound, and overall vibe were next level, and I had an absolute blast from start to finish. If you’re looking for a true Toronto nightlife experience, DPRTMNT is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back.
