I was really curious about "billion" dollars upgraded beach. Clean washroom/ shower facilities but old-fashioned from 80-th. I expected a nice quality sand would be brought to the beach for the money spent on project. And it's free access except for parking.
A very nice place to visit! Access is free, you just have to pay for parking. There are washroom facilities and a large parking lot. Having come the day before a storm, there was some debris near the shore, but once you went out a bit further, the water was just super!
The renovations in 2026 were very well done. The park is huge and has a lot for kids of every age and ability. The beach is much nicer and lots of space. Good amount of (paid) parking. And the washroom building is large with multiple family bathrooms (including accessible ones) as well as open shower for cleaning sand off.
Wonderful beach, but only thing I felt was water was not very clean and had lots of weeds. It was at its full capacity when we visited on a Sunday evening. There is washroom which was clean and ample parking. We enjoyed a lot.
Sunset Beach is a beautiful and peaceful spot to relax. The sunset views are absolutely stunning, with soft colors that make the whole place feel magical. The calm atmosphere and gentle sound of the waves make it perfect for a quiet escape. A truly lovely place that I’d happily visit again.
