I am blowed away with all the hairdressers efferts in attention to detail! Maybe the women of the world are used to being pampered like this but I am definitely not! I am so glad to have found this hidden gem! Also, I don't think I have ever witnessed someone with such capabilities to delivering on dying that these girls do! So fascinating.
Loved my visit at the salon! The atmosphere is great, the products they use are high quality, and JP did an amazing job with my color and cut. I’m really happy with the overall experience.
TLDR: I got a haircut from John Paul 1.5 months ago. It was the most overpriced and uneven bowl cut I have ever received from a man who is not only incompetent and unskilled but also incredibly arrogant, conceited and smug. FULL STORY: Originally, I had booked an appointment with Sharon (or I thought I did). However, when I arrived, I was told that my appointment was with John. Mind you, the fact that I mentioned that Sharon was the hairstylist I had in mind also seemed to offend him. I had to go on a trip the next day and didn't have the time to take my business elsewhere; so I begrudgingly accepted. (How bad could it be? I only wanted a bob cut with an extra bottom layer. It shouldn't be complicated is what I thought.) Now let's get to the main problems: He cut my hair too short inspite of me showing the reference photo with the length of hair I wanted. When I told John, he proceeded to argue stating that "well, you wanted layers so the hair will look shorter". Buddy, if the layers make hair "shrink further", it's YOUR job to take that shrinkage into account and cut LESS from the hair's length. He also didn't cut my hair symmetrically at first. He had to be TOLD to cut my hair symmetrically. Even a mediocre barber would know that without having to be prompted. He also kept my bangs blunt at first and had to be told to add layers to it. That man has zero sense of aesthetics and symmetry. I have got haircuts from scores of hairstylists in my life but adding layers to thick bangs with thick hair was common sense for everyone. You truly have to be a third-rate "hairstylist" if you can't see that yourself. He also chopped my layers unevenly and crudely (it honestly looked like he grabbed chunks of hair at a whim and chopped it). It looks horrible to this day. I will have to wait at least 2 more months to let my hair grow long enough to fix the damage. He also *gave up* somewhere through the blow dry when I asked him to fix the blow dry and left me on my own. John doesn't give a damn about his clients, has an incredibly fragile ego, is incapable of taking feedback and has zero self-awareness. (Typical of most men) Therefore, he remains unskilled. He shouldn't be allowed within 100 feet from a potential client's hair. I considered coming here again to get my haircut from Sharon in the future but I don't think I'll set foot in a place where even the most mediocre man with unearned confidence and smug hubris can be employed. P.S. Gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the lady at the reception was kind.
