As of July 2026 the sand is severely eroded, so expect it to be crowded and with limited space to spread out during peak times and days. If you come, please be respectful and responsible and do not bring trash or clean up after yourself.
This was one of the best and cleanest beaches I have visited in Toronto. The water was very clear and clean, almost like tap water. However, it may not be suitable for conservative families because full nudity is allowed. Many visitors also seem to come out of curiosity to see what a clothing-optional beach is like.
Awesome sandy beaches, different areas to choose from. Island seems well serviced and ferry ride was quick. If you have a chance to check out the historical clothing optional beach, it's worth it. Wait till it's hot out to swim, Lake Ontario can be pretty cold in the spring, but it didn't take long to dry in the sun. All around great destinations, something for everyone, parks and family beaches for kids. Best thing to do is pack a bag with food and water, there is some concessions there. But packing good for food and water is a good idea in case you're there longer than planned 😉
Hanlan’s Point Beach was absolutely incredible! The beach was very clean, well-maintained, and had a relaxing atmosphere. The ferry service was also excellent, with accurate timing and smooth transportation to and from the island. One thing I really liked was that bike rentals are available throughout the island, making it easy and fun to explore the area. The views of Toronto’s skyline are beautiful, and the whole experience feels like a quick escape from the city. The only downside is that the cafés on the island are quite expensive, so it might be a good idea to bring your own snacks and drinks. Overall, a fantastic place to spend a summer day, and I highly recommend visiting!
